Cosmetics
I don't wear makeup as much as I used to, and when I first made this page I was planning to get back into it again. But I never did! And basically all of my makeup products expired. They were on their last leg anyway. So, I decided to slim down my collection here and give reviews for the products that truly worked for me (or that I love because of the packaging), even if I don't wear them anymore. If you see something here that had a formula change or is discontinued, let me know! I'd like to keep this as up-to-date as possible. I haven't really explored any other skincare since last updating this page; thankfully stuff has stayed about the same price!

Eyes

Sailor Moon Pretty Guardian

Colourpop

Released: February 2020
Type: eyeshadow palette
Shades: Shining Moon, Twilight Flash, Silver Crystal, Moon Castle, Fullmoon, Silver Millennium, Mare Serenitatis, Luna, Justice, Tuxedo Rose, Love, Miracle Romance
Texture: Shade: Pigment:
Weartime: Size: Overall:

Review: These colors are lovely but the staying power is average. They last much longer with primer but nothing miraculous. The glitters are chunky and need to be applied carefully. The fallout is subpar for all shades but worst for the glitters. The bottom row of colors are the most saturated; they don't need much to show up. The price for the amount and quality you get is not very good, but this is a brand collab, so you'll know what you're in for.

Review: These colors are gorgeous, if you like blue eyeshadow, but the staying power is average like the previous palette. They last longer with primer but nothing life-changing. The glitters are chunky, again, and need to be applied carefully. The fallout is average for all shades but worst for the glitters as usual. Her Destiny, Girl Power, and Starry Sky are the most saturated. The price for the amount and quality you get is not great, but again, this is a brand collab.

Lips

Ink Velvet
#18
Star Plum Pink

Peripera

Released: 2020
Type: matte stain
Texture: Shade: Pigment:
Weartime: Size: Overall:

Review: I originally bought this shade in 2017, before the entire Ink Velvet line was re-formulated. The OG shade was cooler-tinted, but this version gets the job done as an MLBB. This formula was a bit drier and somehow feathered more? As long as it's applied at the center and patiently spread out, it's fine. The color is just as saturated as before, which is nice cause that helps it last longer; on the lippies and in the bottle!

Glasting Water Tint
#09
Soft Pool

Romand

Released: 2020
Type: gloss stain
Texture: Shade: Pigment:
Weartime: Size: Overall:

Review: One of my favorite colors, formulas, and packaging! This was 1 of 4 shades of the Neon Moon Edition, with Soft Pool being exclusive to the collection. Each shade features a cute bear in a different pose; this bear is relaxing in a floaty. The formula has darkened over time but originally it was a MLBB (my lips but better) type color for pale, cool undertones. It's more berry tinted now but still resembles a flushed pink lip. It's gel-like consistency is comfortable to wear, like all of romand's glasting water tints. It doesn't stain nearly as well as the other water tints, perhaps due to the color being somewhat light. Too many thick layers can cause it to peel or get patchy, so it's best to build in thin layers. It smells like refreshing, juicy candy; very dangerous.

Face

Daily Facial Moisturizer

Vanicream

Released: 2020
Type: lotion
Texture: Scent: Hydration:
Weartime: Size: Overall:

Review: Holy Grail face lotion! Depending on how you use it... and depending on your skin type. I have combo skin, so using a little bit is fine, but my nose is noticeabley drier. Using a lot, however, leaves me oily for several hours. I found a decent diy mix where I add a dime-size or less of the Vanicream Moisturizing Cream to a penny-size of the lotion. I'm a bit oily after, but if I blot, it doesn't dry out my skin! Sometimes blotting will dry out my nose, but this combo seems to work for me. My goal is to find an all-in-one facial moisturizer, but that might be wishful thinking!

Moisturizing Skin Cream

Vanicream

Released: 1980
Type: cream
Texture: Scent: Hydration:
Weartime: Size: Overall:

Review: Holy Grail face and body cream! It is quite thick, similar in texture and moisturizing power to CeraVe. I was originally an avid CeraVe cream user, but didn't like the tingly sensation or the price tag. There really isn't much of a savings difference now. I still prefer this because it doesn't burn my skin. It doesn't have any ceramides or hyaluronic acid, though, and my skin drinks that shit up. That's part of the reason I mix the Vanicream Facial Moisturizer in with it; it's got all that goodness. Petrolatum is the first ingredient, so this cream is definitely occlusive.

Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Milk

Rohto Mentholatum

Released: 2017
Type: milk / chemical sunscreen
Texture: Scent: SPF:
Weartime: Size: Overall:

Review: I was able to try the 2017 formula "gold" bottle; and it was amazing. I can barely remember its scent... and that's the point! I also can't remember needing to re-apply this one, unlike every other sunscreen I've tried. It was only oily if you applied way too much, otherwise it went on and absorbed like a dream. I'm pale, so it didn't leave a white cast... but I've read it was great for all skin shades. I've tried a few reef-safe sunscreens and they all leave me looking like a sweaty clown... I'm open to recs but I'm poor!! I haven't tried the dupe for this yet because it's almost double the price ($9 to $17 as of July 2026). Maybe being a sweaty clown isn't so bad.
